In October 2022, I had the amazing opportunity to work with Mayo Clinic Program in Professionalism and Values and the Dolores Jean Lavins Center for Humanities in Medicine[SMM1] on a celebration event for people on-site at Mayo Clinic, Rochester MN and folks who work remotely. Entitled “Vision and Values,” I facilitated staff’s engagement and artmaking, along with amazing volunteers. Created on 6’x6” giclee prints based on 12 of my watercolor paintings, we encouraged staff to share their favorite Mayo Clinic value by writing and/or drawing with silver, gold or blue sharpie. Each staff work is reflective of their favorite value. Vision and Values was designed to bring staff together to contribute to two enduring artworks that illustrate how the arts relate to the primary and core values of Mayo Clinic. In response to those co-created works, I have been commissioned to create two artworks for the Mayo Clinic permanent collection.
