Bon Voyage! and Happy Travels! are two new mosaics of original Artwork commissioned by and in the public art collection of the Metropolitan Airports Commission, Minneapolis, MN. (Minneapolis St Paul International Airport) Terminal 1 Departures Hall. Designed by artist Anne Labovitz and fabricated by Miotto Mosaics Art Studios in traditional Venetian Smalti Glass Mosaic, the works represent the artist’s examination of color psychology and transformation of public space in contemporary art-making practice.
Inspired by the phrase “Hope you find what you’re looking for!” the artist hopes that the creative energy vibrating within this work will encourage the viewer to engage in cross-cultural exchange with curiosity, optimism, and peace.
