Utilizing the idea of a nomadic project, I brought the I Love You Institute to the Venice Biennale in 2019. There I handed out packets and pins that said I Love You. Given the sociopolitical context of 2019, including the Trump presidency and the divisive nature of politics worldwide, the notion of saying “I love you” was an radical act of defiance and a gesture of resiliency in the face of adversity.
