The Hope Project is a nomadic, artist-led initiative that will pop-up and meander throughout the city of Venice during the Biennale 2022. The concept of hope is not ephemeral or whimsical, nor pedantic or simple, but a considered, serious response to the contemporary condition. The project aims to propagate the idea in contemporary art that connection, empathy, love and creativity can be a tool for re-examining ourselves and our world. Through my work, I am asking something radical of the audience—to use hope to engage and connect with others and oneself.
