Lake IV, 2019, acrylic on canvas, 48″ x 72″

Lake Superior is the inspiration for this series, serving as a metaphor for fragments of intimate memories, time, shared histories and love of the horizon line. They are a meditation on life, humanity and relationships including the shared moments with my artist grandmother who had a studio on the lake. Representing a place of comfort and solace.

Whenever I am searching for answers, be it personally or artistically, I look to the lake and study it’s vast horizon.
